Catechetical Ministry

                                 Catechetical Ministries

In general, ministry has four constants:

o   Rooted in the Holy Spirit

o   Distinction between general ministry and a specific ministry

o   Ministry is for the benefit of others

o   Ministry is for the sake of the Kingdom of God

o   A Christian ministry is service to others in Christ and because of Christ and in the name of the Church.

Catechetical Ministries serve the needs of the parish of St. Stephen Martyr.  These ministries may serve adults, youth or children.  Ministries in this area may involve assessing processes, initiating change or new processes, implementing and critique of process and programs. 

Areas which are in need of volunteer catechists are:

        Baptism preparation

        RCIA teams and sponsors for individual candidates

        First Eucharist preparation teams

        First Reconciliation preparation teams

No teaching experience needed…Older teens and adults welcome

Interview and background check and VIRTUS training necessary when
