Sequence of events of Good Friday

Here is a possible sequence of the events of Good Friday:

The trial of the early morning was most probably performed to ratify the decision that was already made during the night (Lu 22:66-23:1).  This trial was "to make it legal".

  1. Jesus Before Pilate – First Roman Phase (Lu 23:1-5)
  2. Jesus Before Herod - Second Roman Phase (Lu 23:6-12)
  3. Jesus Before Pilate the Second Time – Third Roman Phase (John 18:39-19:16)
  4. The Mockery of the Roman Soldiers (Matt 27:27-30)
  5. The Journey to Golgotha (Lu 23:26-33)
  6. The First Three Hours of the Crucifixion (Lu 23:33-38; John 19:18-27; Lu 23:39-43 )
  7. The Last Three Hours of the Crucifixion (Matt 27:45-50; John 19:28-30; Lu 23:46)
